Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for steakburger. The term "shake" stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak 'n Shake remains the "better burger" leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order. Other classics include the Frisco Melt, 7x7, Prime Steakburgers, and fan favorite M&M milkshakes.

Order Uber eats at 9:30pm at 10pm the eta was 0:40 for the food we ordered so we patiently waited, the eta moved to 11pm and said it wouldn’t take longer than 11pm...current eta is 11:45pm now and we aren’t as hungry as we are tired, no number to call other than the Steak ‘n Shake which we knew our food was coming from to see if our food was even been prepared before we cancelled, a nice young lady answered the phone an explained all the employees had “walked out†and she was the only person running the entire restaurant alone and that’s why our food was taking so long. Uber will hear it from me but I wish I could give zero stars for this restaurant this should never happen and it just a huge disappointment like you can’t even keep the place staffed,! Employees must not really like it hear.

Went through the drive thru, but they were only taking care of one customer at a time, unlike normal. Each car sat at the intercom for 4-5 minutes before having their orders taken. Then you had to pull off into the parking lot to receive your food. Three cars in front of me, and it took almost 30 minutes total to get food. Totally inefficient and won't go back until things are back to normal.

A new owner has purchased the St Augustine, FL Steak n Shake and it's much cleaner with better service than before. I love their double steak burgers with fries and a ice cold coke.
